Many businesses in the US, UK, Canada and Australia hire freelancers in India. Some have great experiences, some don’t. The difference is usually in how you choose and how the work is set up.

Most problems come from vague expectations. Agree the pages, features, content responsibilities, revision rounds and timeline in writing before paying.

Different time zones and working styles can cause delays. Agree how and when you’ll communicate — email, WhatsApp, video calls — and the expected response times.
Ask for live links, not just screenshots, and check the sites on your phone. Ask which parts the person actually did.
Make sure your domain and hosting are in your name, and that you receive the website files after full payment.
Use a traceable payment method with an invoice. Split payments into milestones rather than paying everything up front.
